Mercury 7.5 HP and 9.8 HP crank shaft bearing overhaul

The type of bearings you need to replace the main bearings in a Mercury outboard 7.5 HP or 9.8 HP are

 

1.Main roller bearing, there are two of these … upper and lower

Bearing reads FAG 6204, with dimensions 20mm ID X 47mm OD X 14mm W

2. Needle Bearing, you will only need one of these

Bearing reads Torrington J-1210, with dimensions 0.75″ ID X 1″ OD X 0.625″ W
