Cylinder Wall … FINISHED!

Did the 3rd coat of JB weld last night, this morning did a super light polishing with green scotch-brite and then rubbed some oil on the cylinder and piston and used the piston to do the final “honing”. The JB weld is now rock hard and baby smooth. Will probably do another brake-in once I get everything reassembled and properly powered.

Looking for a welder in Ottawa

This is part of my air compressor project. The retaining groove that normally holds the  circlip wrist pin is totally blow out on one side of my air compressor piston. The piston is made out of aluminium and I am looking for a tig welder to do a couple spot welds to build up a “shoulder” inside that 12 mm hole … would permanently block the wrist pin from coming out on that one side.

I can deliver the part. A replacement piston is about $6 on flea bay but I am hoping someone would do it for a 12 pack of beer.
